Born Ottawa, Canada, 1963

“My early years were full of my Croatian mother’s stories about witches and superstitions. I inherited the need to gather events together and to tell their story in paint. I try to represent things that I have missed. I have a repertoire of symbols that come into being, which then evolve and reveal themselves to me. I am drawn to large format works that are clearly straightforward. I am attracted to birds, insects, animals, mountains and boats. The significant, the universe, and the overstated are what I seek to know.”.
